The first therapeutic intervention and relationship starts with the first contact, even before we meet face to face, when we get first phone call.
At the first contact, whether it is by phone call or face to face meeting, the therapist introduces the service, clarifies the type of work, determines the number of meetings and the frequency. This defines the relationship between the therapist and the client in the therapeutic context.
At the first contact the therapist tries to determine whether the applicant is the customer, then his complaint and after it the applicant’s position in relation to the complaint. The therapist is already trying to determine his leadership of the process.
